Testimonials

KST 2000 Camcorders are shrinking but that doesn't mean audio requirements are getting any less. Despite being one third smaller and half a kilogram lighter than any comparable mixer, the Kamesan KS-T2000 offers all the flexibility you'll need to engineer precise location sound.

True 'pack and go' design

At first sight, 3 in, 2 out, does not appear to be a very demanding mixer specification. But on location, ease of use and adaptability count as the most valued features. You need to interface with varied signal levels. Provide multiple feeds. Cope with awkward working conditions. Attention to every small detail in the KS-T2000's design has resulted in a mixer which can be relied on to excel in every situation.

Accommodating Inputs

Each of the three balanced, XLR inputs can be switched between line or microphone sensitivity. Additionally, either 48 volt or A-B (12V) phantom powering are selectable. A variable input sensitivity controls is next, and this adjusts the input amplifier gain to optimise its amplification for any level, from a hot condensor to a low output ribbon. (Also, matches a wide variation in line signal levels). This means that the normal, physical position of the main channel faders can be 'trimmed' to be be at 2/3 rotation - providing adequate rotation range to 'ride' actual variations in signal levels.

Switchable, sharp, 160Hz high pass filters can eliminate most ambient low frequency noise problems. Separate left right output switches route the signal to the main faders and outputs.

Versatile Outputs

To achieve such a compact size a single meter is is provided though the mixer has full stereo capability. The transformer balanced outputs appear on XLR connectors can drive at professional line level or are simply switched down to a low, microphone signal level. Additionally, two RCA jack connectors provide convenient connection to typical camcorder microphone inputs. Low channel crosstalk and output isolation allow the mixer to be configured for multiple feeds as the situation demands. A 1kHz tone oscillator provides a useful calibration signal.

Versatile monitoring
A front panel switch selects either direct mixer out or an EE (tape return) connection as a monitor source. Both headphone output and metering can be switched to left or right outputs, or a mono mix of both. When the mixer is used used for multi-mono applications, one of the main outputs can be designated as a separate live feed and monitored independently.

Exceptional ease of use

This side profile shows just how convenient operation is. Only the three main and monitor faders have tall knobs. It is virtually impossible to 'knock' any of the other controls inadvertently during operation. Even the main faders have been located on the side of the mixer allowing the operator to set and forget. (A useful feature when the mixer is used by inexperienced operators). Wide knob spacing means that the channel fader provide easy grip under all conditions. An all weather case allows this lightweight mixer to be slung around the neck or shoulder an operated beneath a transparent cover under all conditions.

Remarkable Stamina

The Kamesan KS-T2000 will run for five hours on standard 4xAA cells, available everywhere. (Higher voltages can provide higher output levels). Alternatively, it will accept and regulate any external DC supply in the range of 10 to 15 volts.

Internally, the circuit designs draw on Kamesan's 20 year experience in designing broadcast standard audio equipment. Follow this link for full specifications. more info
