At
first sight, 3 in, 2 out, does not appear to be a very demanding
mixer specification. But on location, ease of use and adaptability
count as the most valued features. You need to interface with
varied signal levels. Provide multiple feeds. Cope with awkward
working conditions. Attention to every small detail in the KS-T2000's
design has resulted in a mixer which
can be relied on to excel in every situation.
 |
Switchable,
sharp, 160Hz high pass filters can eliminate most ambient low frequency
noise problems. Separate left right output switches route the signal
to the main faders and outputs.

A
front panel switch selects either direct mixer out or an EE
(tape return) connection as a monitor source. Both headphone
output and metering can be switched to left or right outputs,
or a mono mix of both. When the mixer is used used for multi-mono
applications, one of the main outputs can be designated as a
separate live feed and monitored independently.

This
side profile shows just how convenient operation is. Only the
three main and monitor faders have tall knobs. It is virtually
impossible to 'knock' any of the other controls inadvertently
during operation. Even the main faders have been located on
the side of the mixer allowing the operator to set and forget.
(A useful feature when the mixer is used by inexperienced operators).
Wide knob spacing means that the channel fader provide easy
grip under all conditions. An all weather case allows this lightweight
mixer to be slung around the neck or shoulder an operated beneath
a transparent cover under all conditions. |

The Kamesan KS-T2000 will run for five
hours on standard 4xAA cells, available everywhere. (Higher
voltages can provide higher output levels). Alternatively,
it will accept and regulate any external DC supply in the
range of 10 to 15 volts.
Internally, the circuit designs draw on Kamesan's
20 year experience in designing broadcast standard audio equipment.
